Karlyn Carnahan is a principal in Novarica's insurance practice, focused on claims, distribution, and IT planning. Karlyn is the primary researcher and author of the market leading reports on claims core systems, reinsurance, and Web 2.0 and is a widely recognized expert on these topics who has presented at numerous conferences and conducted numerous vendor selection projects for US insurers. She joined Novarica with an extensive career in the insurance industry including serving as Vice President of Marketing for Fireman's Fund commercial lines division, where she successfully launched multiple industry programs, expanded online customer self-service capabilities, and took a leading position in formulating IT strategy. She also served as Global Industry Manager for Sun Microsystems and Senior Vice President of Product Development for InsWeb. Earlier in her career, she held a variety of marketing and underwriting positions at NORCAL and Fireman's Fund. Jose Tribuzio is the founder and CEO of Systema Software. Jose has more than 20 years of experience in the claims industry. He began his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) working on diverse projects for the financial, telecom, and transportation industries with clients including Delta Airlines, Pacific Bell, and Banco Frances. He continued his software career managing web development projects for Proxicom. Prior to founding Systema Software, he started a multi-national consulting company helping organizations such as Prudential California and Airtel with their web development projects. Since 2001, Jose has been focusing solely in software solutions for the insurance industry. His vision for the software development was to design a system that was not only robust, elegant, and visually appealing, but also offered clients a great combination of value, flexibility, and functionality previously unavailable in other industry solutions.

He joined the publication in 2010 as associate editor and covers all aspects of the nexus between insurance and information technology, including mobility, distribution, core systems, customer interaction, and risk management. He is a frequent speaker and moderator at live and online events held by both I&T and third parties. A veteran of the trade press, Nathan worked as a database marketing reporter and copy editor for Direct Marketing News, as well as an assistant editor for The Toy Book, before coming to I&T.
